What Our Residents and Families Say

One of the best ways to understand our devotion to quality healthcare is to listen to our Residents and families.  The New Albany will be happy to provide you with the names and numbers of Residents and family members you may talk with to discuss our commitment to caring for area seniors.

Below are testimonials from current Residents and families as well as success stories from Residents who were able to return home.

"Hello  Recently, I spent time at The New Albany Home & Rehab Center.  After hip replacement surgery, I was thrilled at how professional & efficient the entire staff was during my stay there. John Keaton, Jerry Nunley, Noel, Dave (Both rehab) & many others whose names I can't remember were all totally great at their jobs.  I recall one day, that a person from Indianapolis came to my room for an evaluation of the facility.  I told her to simply mark every aspect a TEN!!!!  I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my experience there."   --Thank You,    John C.

I feel like God put me here for a reason, states Nancy Thompson.  She was admitted to the New Albany on December 7, 2010 after suffering a broken hip.  Nancy came here for therapy, with hopes of returning home soon.  She says she has felt like she was at a hotel, stating, the room service is great!  Nancy describes her stay here as a great learning experience.  The staff here has been wonderful to help me understand things about my situation, how to deal with my recuperation and what I can expect once I go home.  She added, I learned how to walk up and down stairs with my cane.  What would happen if I had to walk up stairs that had no handrail?  They even taught me that. They have made sure I fully understand how to deal with many situations.  She learned things far beyond physical therapy.  Sherry Atkins-Wimmer, Therapy Director, has taught Nancy new cooking skills, preparing her completely for her return home.

Johnny, her husband, says from a family standpoint this has been a growing experience.  I missed my wife, but we now realize how much we need each other.  Its almost like dating when I come here and the staff is absolutely super!  Johnny says this could be a very traumatic time in anyones life, but he has not felt that way at all.
Nancy has received excellent care, but they didnt stop there.  They also taught me how to care for her when she comes home, and assured us that we could call anytime and they would answer any questions we had.  He also was quick to add that he was impressed with the food.  He said he had eaten here a few times and thinks the food is great.

Nancy will be discharging to home on February 14, 2011 and both she and Johnny say they have made many friends here, both staff and Residents, and will come back and visit, especially on Wednesdays to join in the 2 pm singing activity.

God surely sent us here they both said.

 -Nancy and Johnny Thompson

I have lived at the New Albany since 2005 states Tenna Amos.  This is my home and I cant imagine living anywhere else.  When asked what it is that she loves about it, she smiles and says, Its wonderful!  The food is great, it is a really nice place, we have a lot of fun activities, we go on outings, we have lots of good music and singing, and, well as a matter of fact, I love everything about it!  Like I said, I could never imagine living anywhere else in this world!
